A Message from Superintendent León
Dear Teachers and Instructional Staff,
We are excited to welcome you back to the 2022-2023 school year! In preparation for a successful year, I am sharing important information for you to review thoroughly.
I Believe in You Grant:
Teachers are vital to the success of our students. With the “I Believe in You” grant, teachers will demonstrate how they are helping students learn to think critically and solve problems.
Grants in the amount of $1,000 will be issued to every teacher in each school. Grant funds can be used for instructional materials and supplies. All requisitions will be entered at the school level. See below for further information:
I Believe in My PLC Grant:
The “I Believe in My PLC” grant provides teachers, possessing a broad vision of what it means to teach and learn, the resources needed to pursue self-designed professional learning experiences.
Teachers will submit an application and determine if funds will be allocated for the grade level or department. The Principal and/or committee at the school completes the review and selects ONE team to receive funding up to $7,000. All requisitions will be entered at the school level. Youth Prose Writing Contest (New)

Back-to-School COVID-19 Testing Resource Kit (New)

Greetings,
In accordance with the guidance shared with Principals, all students will receive an At-Home COVID-19 Test Kit to utilize as an additional resource as needed.
For your convenience, schools will receive the COVID-19 Test Kits the week of August 29th. Schools are to distribute one kit to each student on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 6th. Each kit will include (2) rapid tests and a set of instructions to process the test.
At this time, the district will continue with the process of notifying the school nurse/Health Services of positive test results.

Mandatory Nutrition Training-Leads and Backups (New)
